Baton Rouge, Louisiana, offers the award-winning VI Peel™,  voted Best Chemical Peel in Cosmopolitan magazine.

What is a VI Peel™?

The VI Peel, a chemical peel performed at Louisiana Women’s Aesthetics, is a gentle, yet powerful, medical-grade chemical peel that revitalizes aged and problematic skin.

It helps reduce the appearance of stubborn pigments, such as melasma and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. In addition, it improves clarity, tone, color, and texture for skin conditions such as acne scarring.

What common conditions can a chemical peel address?

VI Peel™ helps with many skin concerns, including:

  • Melasma and other pigmentation issues
  • Age spots
  • Uneven or dull skin tone
  • Fine lines
  • Skin texture

How does a VI Peel work?

During a VI Peel, the skin is cleansed and then the solution is evenly applied in two phases: one to penetrate into the skin cells on the skin’s surface, and the other to go deeper into the dermis, where toxins and dead skin cells are hiding. The solution dries quickly, and you are free to resume moderate daily activities. You must wait five hours before washing your skin, and we do recommend that you avoid any activity that would induce perspiration for the remainder of the day.

What can I expect after my VI Peel treatment?

Immediately following your VI Peel, your skin may appear orange or red. This is temporary and will fade in minutes. On days 1 and 2, the skin will bronze and feel tight, with no visible signs of having had a peel. Any pigmented areas might appear slightly darker. On approximately day 3, you will begin to peel. The first signs of peeling usually begin around the mouth area and continue for 5-7 days.  By day 7-9, you will be done peeling exposing skin that is brighter, with a more vibrant, youthful glow! If a more aggressive peel was performed, a secondary peel might occur around day 7.

How long will my VI Peel results last?

Most people see dramatic improvement after just one VI Peel facial peel. However, skin that is severely damaged will benefit from a series of chemical facial peels performed once a month for at least three months. To maintain the results, it’s recommended that a maintenance facial peel be performed every 6-12 months.

Am I a candidate for a chemical peel?

Women and men of all ages and skin types can benefit from a VI Peel. The treatment is so gentle that it can be used to treat delicate areas of the face, such as underneath the eyes. It can also be used on any part of the body including the chest, hands, arms, and back.
