CoolSculpting®

Unsightly or excessive face and body hair can be upsetting for both women and men. Traditionally, there have been a variety of methods to help remove unwanted hair such as waxing, shaving, and electrolysis, but none of these are permanent and they require frequent treatments. The team at Louisiana Women’s Aesthetics in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, offers laser hair removal, the only medically proven treatment for the removal of unwanted facial and body hair, quickly and effectively, with long-lasting results.

What is CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting is a non-invasive, fat-reduction treatment for women and men who want to get rid of stubborn pockets of fat in areas of the face and body. This revolutionary, FDA-approved technology targets and cools unwanted fat cells in the selected area for a noticeable, natural-looking reduction in fat bulges and long-lasting slimming results.  Unlike most other methods of fat reduction, CoolSculpting involves no needles, surgery, or downtime. CoolSculpting uses cryolipolysis, another term for fat-freezing. When fat cells freeze, they die and are then naturally eliminated through the body’s lymphatic processes.

How does CoolSculpting work?

During the procedure, a non-invasive applicator delivers precisely controlled cooling to target and eliminate fat cells in specific areas of your body.  When fat cells are exposed to cooling during the CoolSculpting procedure, it triggers a process of natural removal, which gradually reduces the thickness of the fat layer.  The body contouring procedure itself is so easy that most patients read, watch TV, or even take a nap while our CoolSculpting experts do the work. Your procedure is 30-60 minutes of uninterrupted “me time.”

What problem areas can CoolSculpting address?

CoolSculpting can reduce targeted fat deposits by up to 25% after just one session. Treatable areas include:

  • Double chin
  • Arms
  • Armpits
  • Abdomen
  • Hip rolls and love handles
  • Bra line
  • Inner and outer thighs
  • Banana rolls (fat on the upper thigh beneath the buttocks)

As an alternative treatment for double chin reduction, we also offer Kybella® injections.

Does CoolSculpting hurt?

The majority of patients at Louisiana Women’s Aesthetics describe their CoolSculpting procedure more as uncomfortable, due to the extreme cold, rather than painful.  Most patients don’t feel any significant pain after their CoolSculpting treatment and only experience mild swelling, aching, or soreness.

How long will my CoolSculpting results last?

CoolSculpting results look natural and can even be seen as early as three weeks following treatment, with the most dramatic results after 1-3 months. But, since CoolSculpting is not a weight loss treatment, it is possible to gain weight post-treatment if you don’t keep up your healthy habits. Results are permanent as long as you do not have 15-20 pounds of weight gain.

Am I a candidate for CoolSculpting?

Ideal CoolSculpting candidates are dedicated to staying fit and healthy but struggle with stubborn pockets of fat that haven’t resolved with diet and exercise.  While the treatment is powerful for reducing targeted deposits, it’s not intended to treat large amounts of excess fat, nor is it ideal for reducing your overall body mass index.
